How Can severe Lightheadedenss Be Treated?

I am a 72-year-old active female. During my last physical I told my doctor I sometimes feel light-headed, especially if I have lost track of time and fail to eat a meal in a timely fashion. He advised me not to skip meals. Since then I have adhered to his advice but sometimes still feel woozy. Often, I notice that when I am feeling woozy the inside of my nose feels irritated. Given those two symptoms, can you come up with any suggestions? My recent tests were all normal except for high cholesterol, so he put me on atorvastatin. But I think that was after I told him about the lightheadedness.
